PROGRAMS:

GLOBALLY CONSCIOUS EDUCATION FOR CHILDREN AGES 1½ TO 6 YEARS

The programs at My Whole Earth Academy cover education for children from 1½ to 6 years of age. Each program is geared towards a different age group to help ensure each child receives the proper care and education. We also offer volunteer positions to high school students and placement opportunities to college and university students focusing on Early Childhood Education, Montessori, and more. Contact our office for more information about our courses and opportunities. We have also updated our program fees to include by-the-month enrollment options for both our in-class and online interactive classrooms.

PREP SCHOOL PROGRAMS

Parent Participation Prep Class – The Introduction & Development of Skills

(90 minutes, Monday – Thursday, 9:00am – 10:30am, for children 20 – 30 months old)

We look forward to gently introducing you and your toddler to the classroom experience. In this class, you will attend with your child and stay with them the whole time, guiding them to notice their Teacher’s instructions and to engage peacefully with their peers and classroom materials.

Our Goals: To lay a strong social foundation based in kindness and trust while learning basic school social skills such as waiting, listening, asking the Teacher for help, taking pride in cleaning up, turn-taking, and more.

PRESCHOOL & JK PROGRAMS

Junior Preschool – Independence Building Towards On-My-Own Participation

(2 hours, Monday – Thursday, 10:30 am – 12:30 pm, for children 2½ – 3½ years old)

Our licensed Jr Preschool Program supports your child’s emerging sense of autonomy and independence.  We continue the ‘Transfer of Trust and Authority’ from Parent to Teacher by asking parents to remain seated at the side of the room or in our lobby, throughout class. Your child may come to you for reassurance and connection at any time, while also having the opportunity to practice ‘on-my-own’ participation and develop the confidence to ‘go to school’.  All while still enjoying the closeness and security that having you near provides them.

Our Goals: To support the emerging autonomy of each child and begin healthy separation from their caregiver for most, if not all, classroom activities.  To expand your child’s vocabulary for receiving help, changing social interactions for the better, and sharing feelings.

Multidisciplinary Preschool – Who am I? Where are we? What is school all about?

(3 hours, Mon – Friday, 9:00am – 12:00am, for children 3 – 4 years old)

Let the questions begin! Our Multidisciplinary Preschool Program offers a unique curriculum that blends the pedagogies of Montessori, Reggio, Waldorf, and the BC Early Learning Framework. We encourage your child to use their natural learning style to complete daily activities while being inspired to become lifelong learners who are self-sufficient, confident members of society.  Our bright and engaging classroom is arranged into thematic stations with quality materials for every curiosity and interest your child may have.

Our Goals: To inspire your child to be curious, empathetic, mindful, and confident while out in the world and at school.  To prepare your child for successful entry into Jr Kindergarten.
